I am looking for "after party" recommendations in historic Savannah. All of our guests will be from out of town and the rehearsal dinner will only be for those in the wedding party. We'd love to tell everyone to go to the same restaurant/bar later in the evening the night of the rehearsal dinner for drinks/catching up, but are not sure where to go. We were thinking Rocks on the Roof, but they don't section off areas of the bar, and their rental fees are very high. We aren't looking for anything fancy, just a place to meet, chat and have a few drinks before the big day (that's not ridiculously crowded).
HI, I am Josh's mom, but live in Savannah....Josh and Liz are in WA state....i would say maybe Spanky's on River Street (local place with 3 locations in town....can be underage because also a full restaurant)...it is on the Eastern end of River Street...Rocks on the River, more towards Western End....Rock's is always very crowded on the weekend so that wouldn't work very well...upstairs deck at Churchill's Pub on Bay Street (across the street from Rock's on the River)....there is a Wild Wings in City Market...but always crowded....those are my best suggestions. Good luck! Maureen Simmons
The riverboats on River Street offer a cruise from 9:30 pm - 11:00 pm on Friday and Saturday nights. You may purchase general tickets, receive a group discount if you have a group of 25 or more or charter an exclusive deck for a fun after party. Please contact me if I can help you.
Try Churchills on Bay Street. They are very accommodating. Depending on the time of year you are getting married they have a roof top bar and they have a basement bar both of which can be cut off from the public is thats what you would like.
