Symbolic wedding in Rome

My fiancee and I originally wanted to have a civil wedding in Rome unfortunately all the wedding halls are already booked on the 3rd of July. We would therefore have our civil wedding one day before and on the 3rd a symbolic wedding in front of all our guests. We are expecting 55 people. Could anyone recommand a nice place in Rome centre where we could organise a romantic symbolic wedding. Thank you!

I'm not sure what you mean by "symbolic" but we had our wedding reception at roof top of Hotel Gladiatori and it was perfect. See http://www.hotelgladiatori.it/eng/hotel.htm

It's not especially cheap but worth every penny. Service, food, accomodations, and the view over the Colosseum were excellent.

Dear Enquirer,

Will you please note that even for a civil wedding on 2nd July booking can only be placed when all paperwork has been accomplished and city fees has been duly paid.

Perhaps you are already aware of the city fees of Euro 1,200 during week
days and Euro 1,400 at week ends.

As regards the symbolic wedding to be done the following day- should the 2nd be possible- I suggest a beautiful back garden of a top class hotel where you could hire 2 different areas : one for the ceremony and the other for the cocktail and snack to be served. Alternatively it could be done - pending availability of the hotel/s since
they held one event at a time- in a roof garden restaurant with a marvellous view over Rome.

I look forward to hearing from you.

If you are looking for a symbolic ceremony we like Piazza Garibaldi which overlooks the city of Rome. But, I'm a little confused if you are looking for a ceremony site or reception site? You probably also have to take in consideration city fees as stated above with a gathering for 55 people.

For a reception site try the "Caffè Capitolino" on the roof of Caffarelli's Building. In the very heart of Roma (Campidoglio),with amazing wiews all over the city but a little expensive.
If you just need an open-air place to stay with your guests try "Parco Savello" (better known as "Orange garden")at sunset... what more romantic than this!
Best wishes,
Rob

Thank you for all your replies. We already have a place for the reception (dinner) We will be having it at the Park Hotel Villa Grazioli. However for our ceremony we would like to have it in Rome centre therefore we are just looking for a place where we could have our symbolic ceremony (exchanging of marriage vows) and then a short aperitif after.

I like the Orange garden. Do you know if they would allow us to set up a place where we can exchange our wedding vows and maybe cater some aperitif in the gardens?

Orange garden is a public garden and as such has certain rules. NO catering can be organised in their gardens.

Make a catering there would be too difficult and long (as everything "public" in Italy)Just bring your drinks, respect the place and leave it clean! Go for an informal drink... or chose a beautiful back garden of a top class hotel ;-)
Best wishes again,
rob
