September is a great month for an outdoor wedding. Consider having the reception at a family property or a friend of the family's home. This will save you a location rental fee. Try to place your dance area on an existing patio or terrace rather than renting a dance floor and use a DJ or IPod for your music. If you really want live music local bands without representation are a better value but you need to book them quickly as your wedding date is not far away. There are awesome musicans that play at Clyde Maness's Music Barn every Tuesday night outside of Carthage. Clyde has a FB page. You can listen to them and talk to them directly. Even though bluegrass is the concentration on Tues. nights, many of the people play in more than 1 band w/ more than 1 musical style. Make a list of your priorities and what aspects make an "awesome" reception for you and go from there. Hope this helps!
