Hi every body!! So im getting married this year, and I am doing all the planning myself, since my fiance is stationed in KS, but i like the planning anyways! :) So anyways, Im newer to this area, and we want to have a small ceremony on the beach, a beach-beach, not one connected to the marrot or anything... Something like Dollman beach. But i dont know if i am going to need to get a permit of some type, and if so, who do i need to contact to get that???? Ive tried to call the county but one person just gives me another person's number and no one there seems to have a brain..lol. So can some one please help?? Thanks so much! Angii
I am not sure about St. Lucie County, but we got married on Santa Lucea Beach in Stuart which is Martin County. We did not need a permit. Actually we were already dealing with the County since we rented the hall at Indian Riverside park and they suggested the beach when we told we wanted a beach wedding. We just got there a few hours before the wedding and roped off a section. Then the rental company came and set up the chairs in that area. Worked out great. We got married on a Friday though, which helped since there weren't many people on the beach that day. Hope this helps.
Ooooh I love beach weddings! I've photographed a few here. I'm originally from Broward County and they required a permit, I think it was about $10 or so, to have the ceremony on the beach. But that allowed you to decorate, put up chairs, etc. I photographed one quick ceremony in Stuart right on the beach, it was only about 10 people, no decorations, and we weren't there too long, and I know they didn't get any type of permit. But you might want to just in case if you do plan on decorating and such. You should call the city (not county) where the beach is you'll be using to double check.
