I am in the process of researching planners/coordinators in the Charleston area for my destination wedding in July 2011. It seems like there are many to choose from and the prices range significantly. Does anyone have any suggestions of an affordable person or company? I appreciate any guidance you may be able to give me :)
We used Carrie at A Charleston Bride- she was amazing. Tell her Cynthia and Ed recommended her. She really did such a great job and worth every penny- very reasonable, too. We did not worry about one thing on our wedding day- we both agreed it was the best decision we made with regard to our wedding.
We are currently working with Sara Cavallon of Something to Celebrate. She is awesome! We are very happy we decided to have a planner/coordinator. She has come up with so many great ideas, yet she has truly listened to all of our ideas, too! She is also very reasonably priced. I have a rather difficult schedule to meet with her, and she is very accommodating! Tell her Amanda and Chris sent you.
Claire with Mod Events - not sure if she has done any "destination weddings" but she is doing mine currently and I don't know what I would do without her. VERY resonable rates and she does flowers too, if you are interested. Tell her Jami sent you!!! www.modeventscharleston.com
I planned my Charleston wedding from Denver CO and used Stacey Fraunfelter with Red Letter Events. She may have changed her name since then as I believe she got married, but she is definitely worth checking out. She was very reasonably priced, was incredibly detail oriented, and, while some other companies/planners told us to take a hike because we werent planning a $50k wedding (ours was about $15k), she didnt flinch and made it an incredible event.
We used Elyn Rahman with a Charleston Event and Bridal Library. She was wonderful and affordable . If I did one thing right it was use a planner and use her. She was very efficient but also personable and was there the reheasal and the all day event July 2009. her number is843-388-8000. Hope that helps. Vicki Bachman
