Venue suggestions

The Big Ten

My husband and I are going to be renewing our vows on our ten year anniversary and are in need of a venue. I'm hoping to find either a hotel or something similar since we will be having open bar and many of our friends and family are coming out of town. I know that if we find a place that allows up to bring in our own alcohol it will be cheaper but i'm aware of the chances of that. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appriciated. thanks - em

The embassy suites in Old Town is directly across from the King Street metro station. The windsor room is beautiful. The food was awesome and everyone is super nice and helpful with whatever you want and need. You cannot bring your own alcohol but they do have different options that can help save money. Good luck!

I highly suggest the Top of the Town. Gorgeous views of the city, you can bring in your own alcohol (but a licensed caterer or bartender can only serve it) and another way to cut down costs is to use their fabulous sound system and plug in your Ipod with whatever set list you may have, rather than hiring a DJ. I think their website is www.topofthetown.com
Good luck!

Send an email or give a call to the Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association. They can provide a list and guidance. Lots of good places.

We had our reception at the Hotel Monaco on King Street and they did a great job. Many of our guests stayed there, it's a neat hotel. The location is closer to the GW Pkwy, but everything is convenient and there's a garage and valet at the hotel.
