We are struggling to decide if we should provide transportation for our guests to/from the reception. All of our event locations (church, reception, after party) are within two miles of each other. Is it okay to not provide shuttle service for our guests, and is there a way to have cabs waiting for them after the reception if drinking/driving becomes a concern?
We had about 80 people attending our wedding and we had just a half mile between locations (only two, not three). We used taxis and it seemed to work out just fine. But, I would be less likely to do it that way if there were more people, because it could cause a delay for the next segment of your festivities. Good luck! Oh, and we did have the hotel arrange for a bunch of taxis to be available. I'm sure you could arrange with a cab company too.
Providing transportation for your guests is a kind and safe thing to do ~ we like to think of it as an insurance policy. You can rest assured that your guests will arrive on time and safely to their destinations. Either cabs or other transportation would be a kind gesture. Best wishes!
