We loved having our wedding in Kennebunkport. With a small town and the ocean and river views, plus proximity to major airports, it was the perfect mini-destination. Our friends and family all loved the setting, and everything there was to do from biking around town, to our lobster bake rehearsal dinner at the Nonantum, to hanging out by the pool at the Colony.
Warren and his band were nice and easy to work with. They are local and familiar with the area, and very accommodating on music selection.
I loved Stacey and so did our friends and family! She favors candid over posed pics, which I liked. And she has a great personality - she was laid back enough to make me feel calm, but also assertive enough to get everyone into place when its time to get group photos, catch the sunset light, etc.
LOVED our flowers! I like minimalist / modern arrangements. We had a great phone consultation, and I was so happy to see the flowers at the wedding - they really listed to me and brought my vision to life. Beautiful!
I worked with Sebastian. He did such an amazing job with my custom invites. They were so unique and perfect for a seaside wedding. I couldn't believe how many compliments we got. And his prices are much better than what I had found in the city.
We had a secular outdoor ceremony. Dan was well spoken, friendly and professional. He is from the area so he made all the logistics from the rehearsal to the license so easy.
Everyone at the salon was talented and great to work with. Also recommend Laurel Wiley who does makeup for them - she did a great job.
The Colony has the most beautiful location overlooking the rocky coast. With the heated pool, private beach access, and relatively reasonable hotel rates so our friends and family could stay there, it made a great location for a mini destination wedding. However, many of the rooms are in desperate need of a renovations. Also, because they are a historic hotel, they have a 9pm noise curfew, so be prepared for an early reception. But we just rented the in-town trolley after the reception to take us to Federal Jacks. We also had a lot of odd dealings with the sales team - they told us they wouldn't be there the weekend we were visiting, but it turned out they were not only there, but they were having a wedding tasting with all the local wedding vendors. They also made several mistakes misquoting room rates and on a few other details. And the dinner menu was pretty basic without many options, but what they did have was good for wedding food. Still, you can't beat the setting. I would just make sure you get everything in writing.
