Loic was simply awesome. Beautiful photos, very relaxed and fun through out the day. Non-obstruvise but really captured the mood. Quality work.
Very quaint, but lovely. The rooms are small and the bathrooms smaller. But what do you expect from a 1920s craftsman-style hotel. The room size is actually average for old Berkeley hotels. The service could be better because they hire local students to run the front desk and they are not always aware of policies or arrangements with guests. Patience helps.
Beautiful venue, unbelievably unique and perfectly in tune with nature. If you love the outdoors but want a classy and affordable location look no further. Their 100 person limit only applies for self-parking. We had 150 and rented two buses (Eastshore Charter) to ferry people. Be warned this adds considerably to an affordable site.
We LOVED the Bancroft's great hall. It was an amazing space and fit 150 comfortably and well. The food is 5-stars and the day of service is excellent as well. However, there are some problems with the management in terms of clarity of what you need and getting back to you. They tend to be very busy and not very good about returning calls/emails. They try, they are just overwhelmed (one of the reasons it is an affordable place). If you are a micro-manager and obsess about details this is not the ideal location for you. If you want someone to just do it and know it will be done well then this is the place!
Also they did not provide a detailed contract or an itemized list of expenses at the END of the wedding (despite requesting both multiple times). This is a huge negative for them and if they can remedy that they will be much improved.
