This vendor had the best cake tasting! Samples were not freezer burned, icing was fresh, and fillings were decadent. They had the best chocolate cake, a lovely sponge cake (lighter than traditional white), and lemon curd (not the gross gelee everyone else uses). We love their Princess cake (sponge cake with raspberry filling covered in marzipan), so we modeled our tier after that...when sponge with lemon curd...and chocolate with a raspberry mousse/buttercream. Delicious! No cake was left! The only issue with this vendor was that the scroll work (only contrast color against marzipan on cake) arrived a purplish brown when we provided samples of a lovely autumn red. We had to dim lights and contact the bakery at later date, as the delivery/set-up person took no responsibility for informing the bakery of the concern the day of the wedding. The store owner was very polite and provided not only some compensation but also gift card to satisfy. We continue to buy from this bakery.
The church is simply gorgeous in color and B& W photos without any decoration in place. The issues we faced were surprises to the photographer (little access to building and changing rooms prior to ceremony) due to multiple bookings, no allowance for receiving line (tradition) that resulted in guests departing prior to our own walk down the exterior stairs for send-off, and fees for the event surpassed any others we knew of.
The hotel was close to major highway, central to shopping, and offered shuttle service to downtown Seattle venues for guests. The shuttle stranded guests and after multiple attempts to resolve, guests were hours late for wedding events. Event management did not hold up all agreements as discussed and written, lighting in ballroom was known to be non-working (resulting in no light over our table and center of room) but no warning was made to us. Food was cold, over cooked, and removed sooner than all had eaten. Requests for packaged leftovers were left unheeded. Set-up staff poured sparkling cider (meant for kids) into all champagne glasses, leaving no glasses to toast with alcohol. Surprise bills for glassware rental and more...when all was agreed upon and paid in advance with promise the hotel had all glassware necessary on site. The accommodations received much complaint by guests as being cramped, moldy, and noisy. Event management staff did not take responsibility for the issues even though admitting to knowing wrong food was served and ordered, leaving us to find the owner/management and working out a deal to compensate for faulty dance floor, food, misc. rentals, etc. I would not choose to stay at this location or refer any business clients.
