The country club has nice facilities and makes for a beautiful ceremony and reception. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend getting married here. Included in the site fee is supposed to be onsite wedding planners to help plan and organize your wedding…I just want to say don’t expect much from them. They are very nice people, but getting questions answered was really only possible if you schedule a meeting in person, otherwise it is like pulling teeth to get questions answered over the phone or through email. The food served at the reception was not the same quality as during the tasting, and we would consider it mediocre at best. The chicken was dried out & some cuts of the prime rib were overly fatty and overcooked in many cases. The quality of the appetizers also went down from what we had tried at our tasting. I suppose these days you have to pay 50+ $/plate in order to get decent food for a wedding reception, so maybe we got what we paid for. It would have been nice to be able to taste the food prior to putting down a deposit. The most disappointing surprise was the final bar bill. Prior to the wedding they told us a typical beer/wine (we excluded hard liquor) bar bill for a group our size is usually around $1500. We also predicted the bill would be around $1500-2000 or 3-5 drinks/person. The first bill was $4000 or 9-10 drinks/person. At first they insisted that this ridiculous bill was correct, but we pushed back knowing that it is absurd to believe each of our guests consumed 9-10 drinks each. They then admitted to miscounting and said our bill was $3000 or 6-7 drinks/person. We were still furious because $3000 is more than if we had opted to purchase their full premium bar package with unlimited beer/wine, and hard alcohol for all our guests. We purposely selected to pay for beer/wine by the bottle instead of unlimited per person in order to save money because 20% or our guests were Mormon and don’t drink alcohol. Unfortunately, this strategy, which was meant to save us money, ended up burning us in the end. We eventually settled on a bill of just over $2500, but we are confident this amount is over what our guests consumed.
