Wedding Mapper was a great resource to share with our guests. We'd highly recommend using it! It's so easy to use and has a lot of great tools and resources. We had a guest list of over 360(many from out of town). I added Wedding mapper to my wedding website. It was great in helping my out of town guests navigate the crazy streets and freeways of Los Angeles. It was much easier than fielding phone calls from about 400 people.
Wow, where do I start ? I hired Leave it to Me for my weddding coordinator. Beverly is the best ! At first, my parents kept telling me that I could handle all the wedding details myself - that I didn't need a coordinator. With my non-flexible work schedule and a guest list of over 360 people who responded yes to the RSVP (several from out of town), I knew that would be a huge mistake. I could see forsee a disaster. I was so stressed out staying up late after work, trying to everything myself. I took matters into my own hands and found Beverly-an Angel ! Thank goodness !
I talked to her on the phone first, then by email a few times before actually meeting her . The very first time I met her in person, I felt like I'd known her for a long time. I felt completely at ease - like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Beverly is so organized, has a great personality, is always on time, has great ideas and solutions to problems. She always responds to emails promptly. She handled all the communications with my vendors, something I didn't have much time to do especially during the day while I was working. She kept all the vendors on track. She even went to my rehearsal dinner location to make sure everything was OK.
In the two weeks before the wedding, she gives you a detailed timeline of the schedule of events. She made sure all of the vendors were on the correct schedule for deliveries and payments . The day of my wedding was absoutely phenominal. Everyone always talks about some disaster that happens that can't be forseen and I was waiting for it. I can say that I had no problems whatsoever ! Everyone in my bridal party and inner circle is still talking about how smooth everything went. Guests are still complimenting me on how organized my wedding was and how professional , efficient my coordinators were. My other vendors even commented on how organized she was and how much they liked working with her. Beverly and her team were really on top of everything. So many of my guests tell me it's one of the nicest weddings they've ever been to.
My parents admitted that I definitely did need a wedding coordinator and are now really happy that I hired Beverly. They, along with my husband and inner circle say she and her team were worth every cent ! I feel so lucky to have met such a wonderful person whom I now consider a great friend.
Love Jamaica and her cakes. I went to 4 other bakeries and none compared to the taste of Jamaica's cakes. They have so many great flavors to choose from. Her cakes are perfectly moist, prefect flavor - not too sweet and definately not bland. I took the samples from all the bakeries to work and everyone loved Jamaica's the most. We had 3 different flavors for our wedding cake, butter cake with lemon curd filling, butter cake with strawberry filling and red velvet with cream cheese filling.
The thing that I loved and was most impressed with was Jamaica herself. She, herself was the one who actually sat with me for the tasting and explained everything and answered all the questions. Great customer service and she is so hands on! A really nice personal touch-that really meant a lot. I had no problem getting in contact with her by phone or email.
Although I'm not a vegan, I like that she offers the option of vegan cakes. The only thing I regret is that I didn't get any cake at my reception other than the little piece that my husband feed me during the cake cutting. There was none left either, because everyone ate it all. Everyone raved about it. It was really hard for us to freeze and save the top layer of our cake instead of eating it. Oh well, I guess I'll have to find another occasion to order a cake so that I actually get to eat it ...

Monique is awesome ! She did my makeup for my morning wedding 5/29/2010. She's very punctual. She actually came ro my locarion at 5:45AM the morning of my wedding, She's extremely professional with a great personality. I sent an email inquiring if she was available the day of my wedding. She called me back the very same day to say that she was available.
When she did the preview makeup session, she asked me the look that I wanted. I only told her that I wanted a natural look, something not too heavy and to do whatever she thought looked best. My makeup turned out fantastic. All my friends who saw it said I looked fantastic !
Monique is also a master at airbrush makeup. I have pretty oil skin and was concerned about my makeup not lasting the whole day. It was a pretty warm day(in the 80's) the day of my wedding and my makeup lasted all day ! Everyone said I looked beautiful and like I looked I'd stepped out of a page of a magazine. She really helped make my day perfect and I'm going to have her do my makeup again soon for another upcoming photo shoot soon.
The first time I heard about this, I knew that I had to have it for my wedding. It was a huge hit ! Everyone loved it. It's a great way to see your guest's humorous side. Some of the pictures were hilarious. Two copies of the pictures are printed so your guest keeps a copy and left the other copy for us. The two people working the booth from ShutterBox were great and extremely helpful. They made this great scrapbook from the photos left by our guests. You and your guests can also view and/or order all the pictures online a few days after the event. They also give you a disk with all the pictures.
D'Arcy from the company is great too. She really worked with me on everything. She answered all my questions over the phone promptly and thoroughly. ShutterBox even helped me create a custom logo for my wedding. I wanted something Los Angeles based and in my wedding colors, so their graphics department created the the logo with the Hollywood sign, our names and wedding date in our wedding colors.
ShutterBox was great. They are very professional, and the booth itself was very nice, clean and modern. They even arrived early to set up It's a few weeks after our wedding and guests are still raving about it. A few want to use ShutterBox for a sweet sixteen party and a birthday party - our photographer even asked about using it. I only wish I had more time to take more pictures in the booth, but as the bride I guess I was a little busy that day ... Hopefully, I'll be able to use them for another event soon !
We had our wedding ceremony at this wonderful and historic church Memorial Day weekend may 29, 2010. I've always wanted to get married here as I have a history with this church. I(the bride) graduated from Pilgrim School (the school affiliated with the church). As an alumni , they gave us a discount. I've always loved the beauty of this church. The architecture, the arches, the gardens and of course the organ is phenominal ! It has the largest church organ in the world and I've always loved the sound of it. The center aisle is 150ft long. We had around 375-380 guests and the church seats well over 1000.
The church coordinator Nancy Huddleston is great. She's very knowledgeable and thorough. She answered all my emails and questions promptly. She helped a lot with the selection of music for the ceremony and lots of other things. They even gave us an audio cd of our wedding ceremony.
A few other things... This church is very strict on the music it allows to be sung or played. Also, this church is pretty dark inside so you need a knowledgeable photographer to deal with the lighting or else your pictures will turn out pretty dark (no flash photography is allowed during the ceremony).
I had my wedding reception here May 29, 2010, Memorial Day weekend. I was feeling extremely stressed that I would never find a venue for my reception. It was difficult to find a place for a holiday weekend and for a large number of guests (I had approximately 360 guests). This place saved the day ! It's a great venue. The staff was great and very accommodating, especially Mark who is over catering. I loved that the beautiful ballroom and courtyard allows for both an indoor and outdoor experience. It allowed my guests to take advantage of the perfect California weather. The grounds of USC are beautiful and picturesque. There are many places to take fantastic pictures here. All my guests complimented the venue and the staff. My out of town guests were really excited to see the USC campus.
The food was great and you can choose from different wedding packages. They have audio visual acclamations for a DJ, showing videos and a stage if you want to have a band. They also offer a package that includes the Trojan Marching Band if you desire. Parking was no problem and carts can be rented to shuttle guests to and from the parking lot. You may want to rent chairs or chair coverings from an outside company if you don't like the standard chairs offered.
