He was wonderful. This caterer, doesn't just bring the food. He arranges all your food, linens, centerpeices, bouquets, and the day timing. He does almost everything a wedding planner would do. The only downside, is that he is extremely busy because he does Alot of weddings, so sometimes it is hard to get ahold of him. But two weeks before my wedding, he answered everyone one of my phone calls, and was extremely helpful in keeping me calm. He made the planning process easy! and he made my wedding, and reception beautiful.
It's a beautiful old church. The historical foundation who runs it is very flexible in scheduling, and full of good ideas on how to decorate. The church has a beautiful balcony at the back of the church the perfect place for a band/quartet to sit and play. The only downside is that you have to bring in your own music (whether it be band/or cd player) because their piano, and organ does not work due to the last hurricane.
There are a few different renting options for this venue. you can either rent just the ball room, or the entire first floor. I rented the entire first floor and it was worth it. I had 150 attend and the availability to use the other rooms, was needed. we put the tables chairs, dance floor and DJ in the ball room, and then the food in one room, and the drinks (Bar) in another room, while the last room was reserved for the guest book/presents/presentation table. I would highly recommend using this venue, the historical foundation also runs it, and they are very flexible.
The rooms were small for the price, and the shampoo, conditioner and soap were terrible. For the price that everyone paid to stay ($139 a night) they should have been able to supply some decent soap. They do serve breakfast but again the prices were very high for what you received. I would not recommend staying here. Unless you want to spend alot and receive very little.
