Our wedding was beautiful – even though we had a bit of rain in the afternoon. Plain City is a marvelous location out in the country, which fit perfectly with our idea and theme of our day. It's so peaceful and the landscape spreads out before you. We had a simple but very beautiful day, and we couldn't have wished for another more.
We couldn't have been more blessed than when we decided to ask Ron at Scrumptious Crumbs to make our wedding cake for our May 7th wedding. Through a series of unfortunate events, we were forced to look for a baker only a month out from the wedding date. It just so happened that Ron had a cancellation for this day, and he was able to work with us. And what a masterpiece he created! Scrumptious Crumbs has everything right - every last detail is accounted for. The tasting was fantastic - with 5 different types of cupcakes and icings, complete with gold forks so none of the taste of the cake is lost in a normal metallic fork. He asked to make copies of the photos we brought, asked for a copy of our invitation for design reference, and he also asked for a couple of the fake flowers I had brought for color matching purposes. I really was impressed by his attention to detail at the tasting, and I was sure we would end up with something special. And on the day of our wedding, our cake blew us both away! Everyone raved at the design, the detail, and the fondant flowers were so delicate and beautiful that people mistook them for real. Even the design from our invitation was flawlessly recreated as a design on our cake, and we were amazed and delighted to see it. And I haven't even mentioned the taste - oh my goodness, those are some seriously scrumptious crumbs! What little cake was left was taken with us on our honeymoon, and we even had cake for breakfast. Ron is a serious master with a artistic flare and gift, and its abundantly obvious that he loves his work. So thank you Ron and Scrumptious Crumbs!
Der Dutchman did not disappoint. The price was right, the delivery was flawless, and the service was exceptional. Our servers were kind, courteous, and graced everyone with a smile. The food was even better than when we've gone to the restaurant! The roasted red potatoes are to die for, and the green beans were raved about by the "best green bean chef" at our reception. The broasted chicken was hot, crispy and juicy, and the roast beef was tender and moist. Everything was perfect, and we send a big THANK YOU to Der Dutchman!
All of the folks at Maranatha were so kind and gracious to us throughout the entire planning process. They made it abundantly clear that they were here to help us, and everyone we met was such a blessing. Pastor Rick Yutzy was a joy to meet with during our premarital session, and the message during our ceremony was beautiful. We used their new sanctuary for our ceremony, and then we had our reception in the fellowship hall. It has a beautiful kitchen area which was perfect for setting out our buffet catered by Der Dutchman, and the church staff arranged all of the reception tables and linens as we had discussed. There was room for 95 guests, a DJ, our buffet and cake table, and a small dance area. It was perfect, and I couldn't imagine a better place to have held our wedding.
