I planned most of my wedding during a deployment in Iraq where I served as an Army dentist! My fiance and I chose to marry in Mount Pleasant, SC just outside Charleston (where we fell in love!) We wanted a wedding on the ocean, and so we chose the Pavilion at Patriots Point as a location for the ceremony as well as the reception. Due to our work and school schedules we chose March 20 (spring break week) for our wedding. It was a bit chilly that week, as the East Coast had suffered an unusual cold spell, but our day was warm and beautiful. If weather is a concern, couples might consider having their weddings later in the month, or April perhaps, when the weather is a bit more predictable.
Thuy Patterson was very easy to work with (even from a great distance.) She captured our vision and colors perfectly. She is warm, caring, and is a true professional. She considered every small detail and request, making us feel like we were her only clients! We highly recommend this amazing floral designer. P.S. Her prices are extremely reasonable.
Lauren Mitterer is a pastry chef extraordinaire! She did an unbelievable job with our cake. It was beautiful, and more importantly, one of the best cakes we have ever tasted (our red velvet layer was gone in seconds!) Lauren understood our vision and executed that vision to create a wonderful cake. As an aside, she also created the desserts for our rehearsal dinner at the Red Drum, and cupcakes for my bridal shower! This girl can do it all...affordably, dependably, beautifully, and tastefully! Thank you, Lauren!
Wayne Lee did a great job with our wedding. He paid close attention to our wishes concerning songs, special dances, etc. Everything went off perfectly, and everyone had a blast!
We wanted a photographer who could see the "bigger picture" when shooting our wedding day. We did not want too many posed shots. Jim Gund's use of light and shadow made for glorious photographs. We highly recommend Jim Gund if you want an amazing perpective on your wedding day!
This salon is outstanding! My bridal party hosted a spa party for me two days prior to the wedding, which was a blast! Stella Nova set us up in our own little section where we could enjoy pastries, beverages and mimosas. On the day of the wedding we all had our hair and makeup done there as well. The girls at Stella Nova were extremely kind, gracious, and accomodating. We loved every minute of our visits there, and came out looking gorgeous :)
The Pavilion at Patriots Point, with its spectacular setting, made for a picture perfect wedding and reception. We worked with Lacy Davidson, who was gractious, patient, and kind through the entire process. We started with a cocktail hour outside the tent. Guests enjoyed the view, teak benches, and fire pit. The interior of the tent was gorgeous, complete with brick flooring and twinkling lights and lanterns. The food was amazing. We had chosen prime rib, shrimp and grits, and chicken as entrees...all were outstanding! We enjoyed every minute of our wedding and reception at The Pavilion at Patriots Point! If you are looking for a unique seaside location, this is it.
We chose the Red Drum for our rehearsal dinner because of the outstanding menu of amazing dishes! We also hosted a "welcome gathering" after the rehearsal diner for all the rest of our wedding guests who had traveled to SC to attend our wedding. We reserved the large outdoor space, complete with fireplace, bar, couches, twinkling lights, etc. for the party. Every ounce of food and drink was superb. The service and attention to detail by owner Ben, Charlie, and Marianna was wonderful. My family agrees that we will all travel to SC just to go to the Red Drum!
