Again, you get what you pay for. Our last-minute decision to have a party bus left us without many options. We managed to find one here however when they showed up, despite website pictures and saying they provided wedding services, our bus was dirty and grimy. It was definitely a "party" bus. Our driver was friendly and good about time and stops we wanted to make. All in all it worked out well. Do your research on which bus you'll rent from this vendor.
Target's constant rotating supply of inventory made maintaining our registry a pain. Family and Friends complained that they couldn't purchase anything off our registry because it was either out of stock or limited availability. Our registries at Kohls and William's Sonoma were much better about this.
Extensive selection and great prices! Our only qualm would be the lack of customer service once my purchase was made. After I bought my dress, service quality dropped immediately. It's a big, busy store but I felt as if I was just another dollar for them. Also, be careful about store sample dress- bride and bridesmaid. The basement is full of dingy dress samples; check your color in different lighting and get actual new fabric swatches to make sure you're getting what you want. Dress & Tux prices are affordable and hours are convenient.
Midwest Sound did an amazing job of providing lighting, slideshow setup, and music. Our DJ, Dave, was great. He checked in with myself (the bride) or my mother throughout the night to see how things were going or if there was/wasn't anything we wanted to hear. Be sure to select items for your playlist from their extensive music selection and talk with your DJ before the event.
You get what you pay for. Complete Beverage service was one of the less expensive bar options available to us and it was clear in the lack of coordination and detail they provided. After a last minute fiasco with them nearly canceling because our self-provided cocktail hour, they agreed that they would serve our homebrew for a fee. I argued that there was nothing in a contract or info that said we couldn't do this and they responded with, "contracts are for people who do things wrong." Their lack of provided information lead me to ask about the details of their service. Until I asked, they never mentioned that they do not provide any linens, bar tables, etc. At the event, they failed to bring the correct keg beer and one of our bartenders was rude. She interrupted dinner to remind me that no additional alcohol was allowed while they were serving...this was in response to the cooler from the party bus being taken off the bus and put in storage room. I felt like I was being babysat. I spoke with the vendor after the event and excuses were made and there was no offer for reimbursement or anything to make it up. Until this vendor can begin to provided more contractual information and inclusive services, I would not recommend using them.
Sarah, the owner of Botanical Art, did an absolutely amazing job with our flowers. I was very vague with my original descriptions- wildflowers, muted tones, etc... and she provided a very clear and descriptive list of the types of flowers we could use and where/who we could use them for. I described to her my country-wedding style and the dresses and she captured the atmosphere perfectly. Her attention to detail in her work is magnificent and she's very good about staying in touch throughout wedding planning. Prices were great and she works around your day for delivery. Highly Highly recommend her services!
We were the DIY wedding planners and working with the staff at Anchor Paper, we designed invites, thank yous, and the whole nine yards of paper products to fit our wedding style. The staff helped with recommendations and teaching us how to use their equipment (for free with your paper purchase). This is the place to go if you want to make your own invites!
Common Roots catering was the backbone to our event details. Andrea, our catering contact, worked with us every step of the way to incorporate our wedding style into the event details. Our meal was customized to our liking and she worked to help make the event a reflection of Mike and I. From helping serve our 28 homemade pies to decorating the buffet table, Andrea was on top of it. Of all vendors at our event, I felt most secure with Common Roots because of the work they put in to get to know us and our event details. Our friends and family rave that this was the best wedding meal they've ever tasted- we agree! :)
Other than a few bumps with locating our signed contract, Midway had everything we needed at a decent price. Everything we rented was in good condition and went smoothly after that!
