We decided to use Beach Ball Events to coordinate and plan our wedding. We live in Maryland so meeting face-to-face with vendors was pretty much out the question for us. We had the ceremony on the beach at Kill Devil Hills and BBE made sure to have chairs set up for our guests. Our reception was at Mallards Marsh (which is owned by BBE) and everything went off without a hitch. We ended up spending the wedding night in Manteo and went back the next morning to the beach house our family was renting in Rodanthe. My husband and I have vacationed in OBX for a few years. We have so many good memories of the area that it was only fitting that we got married there. We try to make it down the beaches at least once a year. If you are thinking about having an OBX wedding, go for it! I can honestly say that you will not regret it!
The staff did an amazing job with getting my maid of honor and I ready for the big day. I am definitely booking another spa day with them when I come back to OBX!
I was able to find a beach friendly dress (if you plan to have a beach wedding, make sure to get a light dress that is easy to shake sand out.) I told the associates what I was looking for and they were able to find my dream dress for me!
Our wedding party wore J. Crew since we wanted a beachy-casual look and we wanted them to wear items that could be worn over again. Since we do not have a J. Crew where we live that carries dress attire, I had to order everything online. J. Crew's customer service is great and they were very helpful during my order. Our wedding party looked amazing too!
My husband and I were married at mile marker 9.1 which is in Kill Devil Hills. It is a public beach access with parking. The beach (like all other OBX beaches) is perfect!
