In addition to providing a unique dining experience for our guests at reasonable prices, Irene and her crew made sure the rest of the party was running smoothly, from table decor to some of the ceremonial traditions used during our reception. Their attention to detail gives you peace of mind that even if things don't go smoothly, Saffron 59 is there to make sure things are back to running seamlessly.
Smack Mellon provides a backdrop of the Manhattan Bridge and the city, allowing you keep your decor simple and within a reasonable budget. Suzanne was understanding about several issues that arose and was helpful throughout the process. Rental of the space includes a one year membership to the gallery and is tax-deductible.
Beautiful church and great location if your reception is in the DUMBO area. On a beautiful day, a 15-20 minute walk will take your guests from the church to DUMBO. Just be sure to forewarn the ladies about their potential trek through the streets. I believe you must be a member of the church to hold your wedding there - we were lucky and were referred here by another church in Queens.
A short walk from Smack Mellon, reBar was a fun place to relax and unwind after the reception. Rebar was large enough to accommodate our guests - reservation wasn't necessary. Just be sure to check their schedule for potential private events. The after-party was great for hanging out with our friends, without the pressure of "wedding duties" to tend to.
