Our wedding in Sandestin/Miramar Beach, FL was that of a dream, our dream! My Husband and I wanted a beach wedding with elegance. We had a small classy but simple wedding. The attire was semi-formal. We had flowing linen wrapped around a bamboo arbor that was exquisite! The wasn't another soul on the beach except us and our guest. The water was emerald blue but crystal clear and the sand soft, smooth and white! Our reception was candlelit on the pool deck overlooking the beach. It was a January wedding so to keep our guest warm and cozy, tall stand up heaters along with gumbo and hot-chocolate was provided. The ceremony and reception mood was romantic and personal. All the guest had rooms at the reception resort allowing them to change into more comfortable clothing for the bonfire following the reception. If you didn't get enough to eat at the buffet, smores were also provided at the bonfire. My husband Larry and I fullfilled our dream of dancing on the beach whith sand between our toes and stars twinkling in the sky. It was the most beautiful romantic wedding of our dream!
This is not your typical florists! They dont just supply the flowers but always create a whatever you may vision, they took the time to make the arbor I found in a magazine! From the arbor, the lanterns to the flowers everything was perfect!
Bro. Devin Warner is your officiant if you are looking for someone with enthusiasm. Bro. Devin was very pleasant to work with. It was great to have an officiant that truly loved God but did not turn our ceremony into a sermon!
Although Mrs. Lisa did capture some beautiful photos, she is not your photographer if you want traditional wedding photos! I asked her many times during the the reception for family photos but she would dissapear. She was rude to my guest, even told one friend she didnt look good. When it was all said and done I did not get a photo with my mom and dad on my wedding day! The photos she did take was like she never looked at her screen to make sure everthing came out good. I got alot of blurred pictures or pictures with bad lighting. Even though we stressed during our consult with her that our reception would be outside at night on the beach and could be cold (seeing it was Jan.) she complained the entire time about not being able to take photos due to her fingers being cold and the lighting (even though she shot at this venue before and assured us she had the equiptment). She even criticized my hair and makeup when taking the pre-wedding photos in the dressing room. Not something a bride typically wants to hear before she walks down the aisle. We also bought the cd of photos because we wanted all the photos and not have to choose a package but instead she gave us a cd of the pictures she thought we needed. Your wedding photos should have your guest but ours did not, when asked why she didnt take any of our guest she stated our guest were unfriendly. We did ask for the remaining photos (seeing as we paid for them) but never received them. Her strangest comment, when walking down the aisle (recessional) she asked my husband and I to turn around and do it again because she didnt get a good shot (thankfully one of our guest did).
This is a beautiful place for any event but especially a wedding. It is a private beach and community that is picture perfect! My only concern is that guest need to arrive early because they half to be escorted through the community which was very unorganized making the ceremony start 30mins late! Thats enough to stress out a bride! They also do not provide a room for dressing so we had to pay an entire room fee at the Inn for 2hrs.
Reception Location: Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa
Everyone was so pleasant to work with at the Hilton. They reserved an entire floor for all our guest. There was many options/locations/decks/ballrooms for our reception. We choose the Spa deck with easy access to the beach for our bonfire following the reception. I would recommend this location to anyone!
