Jason Casano at Adrienne's is a dream to work with. We had our reception in an gorgeous East Village lounge and decided to go with gourmet pizzas and salads. It was an enormous hit and the food was fun and still elegant!
Angelica Gomes the co-owner of Magnolia Flowers and Events is an absolute genius. She is truly creative and has such an intuitive sense of beauty, in addition to having a vast knowledge of botanicals. She gave us outstanding arrangements and wedding party flowers that made my wedding extraordinary.
The cake was more beautiful than we could have possibly imagined and it tasted fantastic. I had come into the shop a few Saturdays in the month prior to ask questions of the bakers and to talk to the staff about options and delivery, and the whole experience was fun and extremely professional. I did not want an over the top frilly cake, but something iced smooth with tiny blue dots at the bottom of each layer. Our four-tiered strawberry shortcake was delicious and super-cool!
We got our Jordan Almonds here. This place is so cool though, every candy imaginable and fantastic prices.
Judie Guild is amazing. Extremely kind and thoughtful, she helped my husband and I create an absolutely lovely and meaningful ceremony that was very "us". She also helped me corral people together and dispense information at the rehearsal the day before so I didn't have to be the bossy one! Her prices were much more reasonable than most officiants that we had looked into, and she was extremely diligent about all of the marriage paperwork being signed off and sent in properly.
Our friends are referring to the ceremony as being held in the "Garden of Love". It had been seriously pouring rain for three days straight just before our scheduled wedding date and needless to say we were worried. The day of, the rain let up to a slight drizzle and the Garden graciously offered us a tent for our guests. Everything turned out beautifully, and the garden itself was shining. Booking at a community Garden basically amounts to emailing the website and paying their fees, which are nominal. The biggest thing to remember is that they do not allow alcohol, and cleanup and setup are part of your alloted time. Our garden had plenty of available seating in the form of benches and chairs but many don't so these would have to be rented if needed.
We booked this space for our reception for many reasons. Firstly, we were on a very tight budget but we still wanted something that really reflected who we are and where we live. Arlo & Esme is a gorgeous lounge that opens at night and is host to lavishly sexy parties in it's 4000 sqare foot space. It has a beautifully spacious bar, large rooms that open into each other, a pristine pool table, arcade games, a dj booth, and plenty of room to dance. Low couches and small cozy tables added to it's eclectic elegance. Because they open at night, we got a fantastic deal on the open bar and space for our daytime reception. The staff was really wonderful in providing everything we needed and the managers that helped me with the planning were extremely well organized a dream to work with. It really was a relief to not feel worry or concern about such a big part of the day's events.
Alexandra did my hair and makeup for the wedding and she is a genius. I almost didn't recognize myself, somehow she made me beautiful without being overly made-up. She is truly a wonderful stylist who first and foremost wanted to make me happy and perfect for my day!
What can I say, but Supper is an ideal place for a rehearsal dinner. Since our wedding was on a Saturday, that meant that our rehearsal dinner had to be the night before. Friday night in New York for 45 people can be EXTREMELY exspensive, not to mention difficult to book a space for. We booked at 5 pm, early I know, but cost and time dictated, so as such we saved a lot of money and were able to relax the night before the wedding. Supper gave us a great deal on a family style prix-fix that was intimate and encouraged a "getting to know you" vibe among our families and friends. Again, it was so much fun, simultaneously elegant and casual, with endless glasses of wine and champagne.
