We had beautiful weather for our wedding. Everything went very smoothly and its pretty much like I envisioned it.
I am not from Saginaw but it was worth the extra drive and time to plan a wedding here. The Temple Theatre was a beautiful venue with the bonus of getting your name in lights on your wedding day and the Saginaw Art Museum's gardens are a very affordable place to hold a ceremony.
This is a small salon with only 3 stylists. My original stylist was out with the flu on the day of the wedding but even with only 2 people and an assistant, they were able to do 4 up-dos in 2 hours. There is also a make-up artist available.
Gorgeous garden; staff was very helpful in setting everything up and taking care of all our needs. They don't charge enough especially with their financial concerns- we made a donation doubling the rental fee and it was still cheap!
Our ceremony was held at the top of stairs on a grassy area. There are several suitable locations in the garden also, as long as you can navigate stairs in your gown!
The ballroom of the Temple Theatre is beautiful with subtle colors to accomodate any decorations. They have floral services available however I did 90% of the tablepieces myself, just renting tealight candleholders.
For weddings, there is a large staircase descending from the upper level- perfect for a grand entrance!
The food was great however I wish we had foregone the dessert buffet as it was placed out around the same time as our cake cutting and many people ate that instead of our cake.
The suite rooms are very nice and huge- great for storing all the "stuff" that comes with having a wedding: floral, dress, etc.
One caveat: There is no pool here and guests staying more than one night might be interested in a hotel with more amenties. There is a restaurant/bar and outdoor seating area.
A big hit with the out-of towners who arrived a few days early. We arranged a dinner at the Bavarian Inn for extended family who were not part of the rehearsal party.
