Our wedding in September in Portland could not have been better! Our beach wedding was spectualr and were lucky enough to have 4 days of perfect coastal weather. September is also a great month for delicious local foods. We were able to take advantage of this and had a great 'local' menu of finger foods to offer our guest at the Firehouse. Portland and Oregon has so many wonderful things offered for wedding venues, receptions, or things for your guest to enjoy and explore.
NATIAN brewery is a micro brewery that brews their beer in mini batches at a time. It is as organic and home based as it comes. You can taste their beers personally at their brewery, located in the old Portland Bottle Company or at one of the pubs featuring their beers! We offered two of the their beers to our guest,a keg each of the Destination Honey Red and Everyday IPA. They are affordable, friendly and awesome!
The Historic Kenton Firehouse is a charming and historical landmark in North Portland. We held our reception here(held 2 weeks later after our private wedding on the coast). We were able to show our guest our wedding pictures on a slide show and play music with our ipod. There is also a full kitchen and a private outside area. We had so many of our guest, who were locals, love the building and the set up. Since we have had our reception, they have been working hard on improving the building - updating and making it more green!
My girlfriends from Seattle stayed the night at aloft. They scored a great price as well for the night, $80! They raved on the all the modern appliances and cleanliness. It's also across the street from IKEA = score!
Our parents from California stayed a few nights at the Overleaf, as we rented a beach house 3 miles north on hwy 101. They absolutely loved the views and were impressed with their room all together!
