Getting married in Lake Geneva was by far the best choice my husband and I could have made to make our wedding day come true! Before looking at the Riv, we were planning on having our wedding at an ordinary ballroom in the northwest suburbs of Chicago (where we are from). I couldn't, for one second, pass up the beautiful and scenic views that the Riv had to offer! While the planning was extremely time consuming and overwhelming, the uniqueness of the the venue made everything worth while! We continue to receive many compliments on the venue and everything it had to offer! It is definitely worth the time planning and the extra money to have it at this AMAZING venue!!
We did hours of research on what band would fit our style!! It wasn't until we saw Velocity perform until we knew they were just right for us! They were so easy to work with and played a variety of genres! Our wedding guests continue to share how great the band was and spoke very highly of them! :) They were super reasonable and were great performers!
Zilli's offered a variety of dinner options. They were very accommodating to our guests and had great service. We decided to go with a semi sit-down dinner (salad is served, and the rest is buffet). We offered beef and chicken. We had full bar service. Overall pricing was very reasonable and food tasted good.
We decided to go with cupcakes and a cake topper. We had many compliments on the various flavors (red velvet, carrot cake, and vanilla).
Pesches did a great job working closely with us and designing bouquets to our style. One thing that went wrong is that I asked for coral and ivory rose pedals to spread around the tables at the reception, but they ended up being more orange like colors. This was NOT the color we were looking for. I didn't mention anything to the florist after, but make sure you know the colors you are getting so that it goes with your theme! :)
We had our ceremony of the Riviera and it was beautiful! We absolutely loved the scenic venue and the views of lake! We were able to create an intimate space with garden chairs, light stripes, rose pedals, and ceremonial music.
We did a cocktail hour at the Riviera for our guests..offered a full bar and some warm and cold appetizers! While our guests enjoyed the views and the venue, we talk our bridal part on an hour cruse around the lake! It was definitely worth it and everyone LOVED IT!
We had our guests stay at the Cove. We really liked the idea of the proximity to the Riviera. Our bridal party walked to the Riviera for the ceremony and so did many of our guests. I loved the convenience of the location. The hotel amenities are not as nice as we would have liked, but location, space of rooms, and price were more important to us. All of the rooms are owned privately, so rooms were all decorated differently. This was not to our liking, but we dealt with it. We saved money by not having to rent limos or buses to transport our guests. Overall, we didn't really have any complaints.
