A Chicago wedding is recommeded highly! It was easy for family and friends to fly in. Early September is a great time of the year in Chicago, the weather was perfect. There were plenty of activities for all to enjoy. We do not live near Chicago, so it was important to be able to work with vendors at a distance and for them to be responsive both by telephone and email.
Good service; however, we feel the arrangements we received was overpriced. Of course, we don't get married that often, so it is hard to do comparison shopping.
The first suite had sewer backup in the bath tub everytime we drained the sink. The second suite had suffered severe rain damage and the ceiling tiles were buckled and we were afraid they would fall on us. We left and there were no apologizes or offers to make it right. We are very disappointed.
We cannot express adequately how wonderful Ben Kulp was to work with in preparing a music program and how well they performed! Thank you, thank you. They were excelllent every step of the way. Recommended highly.
Dawn did a fantastic job photographing our wedding and reception. She was both patient and creative, which is a real plus for a middle aged couple in a second marriage situation. She has an eye for catching and capturing the moment and the spirit of the day.
Her fee was reasonable and the selection of photographs was beyond our expectations. Over the years, we have been to many weddings and seen many wedding portfolios. None were as impressive as we received from her.
We thank her for her help. She made a special day even better to remember.
A jewel box. For a small wedding (300 or less), this is perfect. But have someone arrive a litlle early to air it out. It can be musty. 1050 E. 59th Street, Chicago. You must have some University of Chicago connection to book it; e.g., alumnus, student, employee, or child of one of these.
Although the on-board hostess did not have the tables prepared by the time of arrival; e.g., place settings and personalized menus; the overall experience was very good. The food was very good and plentiful. Vegitarian meals available. The cruise was delightful. The person handling the booking, Liz Pasnik, was excellent to work with (she was not the on-board hostess). Recommended highly for a memorable evening.
A good venue for out of town guests (and the wedding party) to stay, coordinate and mingle. However, the hotel did not provide a group rate or a wedding party price concession for booking 12 rooms; the water feature in the lobby needs to be cleaned thoroughly because it gives off a moldy smell; and, valet parking lost our car twice.
