Our wedding turned out pretty great! We had many details that made it quite special and unique, such as an engravable plate rather than a photo mat. Renting a hall in Maryland was expensive, but we found most sites were somewhat flexible with lowering the price. We also found the weddingmapper website to be very user friendly, as we were able to link right to it from the private website we created on our own to inform guests about our wedding. I attended several wedding shows, but I found it more helpful to pick vendors based on reports from friends and family members about who they would recommend based on their own personal experiences.
Laura did a great job blending in, but it would have been nice if she had taken more photos. However, the pictures she took were very nice. She showed up as planned and was a joy to work with.
It was great at first working with the wedding planner at the Holiday Inn, but the day of the wedding was total chaos. The wedding planner turned her duties over to another staff member, and they both left before we even cut the cake. The wedding planner was rarely around to speak with when problems arose. It also seemed as though our complaints after the day of the wedding fell on deaf ears, as she tried to place blame on everyone but herself for the mistakes that were made. However, the hall looked beautiful, and many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had attended (based on the look of the ballroom and the food).
