Our wedding was amazing and I believe we had the best vendors in the Monterey area. Feel free to email us with any questions!
Our flowers turned out amazing! I was very impressed with S&S. Erik worked with me to plan the colors and types of flowers for our wedding, and I cannot say enough great things about him. He took the time to make sure I was happy with each choice. On the big day, they delivered all the flowers to where they needed to go (to me, to the reception hall and to the church), and even set them up in the church and offered to set them up in the reception hall. Definitely two thumbs up! You will not be disappointed.
I can't say enough about Big Time Video Services!!! Our wedding video is absolutely wonderful...better than anything we could have dreamed up!! Peri, Patrick and crew are great to work with and really took the time to find out about us as a couple and our plans/thoughts for the wedding. They captured every moment, detail and emotion. My husband and I cried our way watching it through for the first time. I highly recommend Big Time Video Services if you will be getting married in the Monterey, CA area. You will not be disappointed!!!
Our photos could not be better!! Jim is not only a talented photographer, but he is great to work with. I could not be happier with how our photos turned out and am very pleased with the decision to go with Jim. If you are getting married in the Monterey area, definitely take a look at Jim's work. Every moment and emotion of the day was captured. Our pictures truly tell a story of our day.
Layer's did not disappoint. We loved our cake, and I only wish that I had had time during the reception to actually eat a whole piece. The cake tasted great, was reasonably priced and looked amazing. Layer's was also great to work with and since they have been in the area for so long, they were very familiar with our venue and took care of everything on the wedding day.
Getting married at the Naval Postgraduate School was a good choice for us, considering we are a military family. We loved the campus and the reception area, as well as the food there. The only drawbacks were 1-getting all our guests through security and 2- the office that handles events.
Despite telling all our guests in advance what they would need in order to get through the gate, and having everyone's name on the list, many of our guests still had problems with security. That night, the military was not on duty, but a contractor. The father and mother of the bride almost were not let in and the groom came close to calling an officer (he is an officer himself) to handle the situation. Also, NPS is not labeled very well, so if you are not familiar with the campus, it is easy to get lost. We did provide all of our guests with maps, and they still had a hard time finding the chapel and parking. Also, the office that books and coordinates events was not the best to work with. We did not have a good experience with them. There was frequent forgetfulness and miscommunication, which is something you don't want when planning your wedding and reception. Despite the two negative points above, our wedding was great and we were pleased with NPS.
