I was having an unconventional destination wedding with only immediate family invited. I ordered a small cake over the telephone. We agreed on how it would be decorated and everything appeared to run smoothly. The day before the wedding my mother went and picked up the cake. When she brought it back to the hotel, it was not decorated as agreeded. I called the bakery. It was explained that they could not decorate as agreed and if I did not like the cake to bring it back for a full refund. After ordering a cake from another bakery, I told him I was bringing it back but when I arrived 10 minutes later (15 minutes before he stated they were closing) he had already closed the bakery. I was not able to get ahold of the owner over the weekend. Because everyone was leaving TN after the wedding, I had no choice but to dispose of the disputed cake. The owner called me on Monday She gave me two stories why her employee was not there. First she stated that she told him to close the bakery early in order to help with another wedding. Later in the conversation she stated that her employee waited until 5 minutes after closing and left when I did not show. She also stated that she had difficulty with decorating the cake as agreed and decided to alter the decoration plan without contacting me. She told me that I could either dispute it with my credit card company or she would give me half my money back since I did not return the cake. I agrued that I did return the cake but she told me she had no evidence of that and that I should have left the cake outside her bakery door for the weekend. I told her that if she went into one of the other businesses in the strip mall she would know that I brought the cake back because I went in it asking for alternated contact information for the bakery owner. She was not interested in this information. She told me she could not authorize more than half my money back without speaking with the other owners. By the end of the conversation she was going to discuss it with them and let me know. I have not heard from her in over one month. My credit card gave me a full refund on the cake because they felt that I had proven my case to them. Unfortunately they could not go after her because my mother left the bakery with cake and did not dispute it then. So my advice is buyer beware.
He did a great job taking photos. He loves his craft and has very reasonable pricing. He was always friendly and delivered on his promises. He was early for the event which allowed us to take photos before the appointed time. I would hire him again most definitely.
