I had my wedding at the Mavris this past August. There were 4 interruptions during the ceremony. 2 trains, and 2 helicopters, and we had to stop every time, making our 20 minute ceremony almost an hour. I was in tears by the end of it. No one mentioned to me that there might be helicopters flying over. And the occurrence of a train was "very rare." Then why did I have TWO trains during my ceremony? Not to mention our coordinator Vanessa did not have our information organized by the final wrap-up meeting and couldn't even give us our final amount that we owed. We weren't able to have our rehearsal dinner there because they double booked us, and they also removed the option of having an after-party, which was one of the selling points for us. I was very disappointed. Sidenote- don't let John Mavris fool you. He is incredibly charming when you first meet him but once he books you, he couldn't care less about you. The place is absolutely beautiful, and we ended up having a great time at the reception. But for all of the things that went wrong and for how incredibly expensive it was, it was not at all worth it.
