We live in Los Angeles, but decided to have our ceremony in April's hometown of Coggon. It was a small-ish but absolutely lovely and meaningful ceremony. We think the simplicity, and avoiding the pressure of a big LA-thing, helped us enjoy the spirit and true meaning of the vows we were about to take.
My sister who lives in Cedar Rapids made arrangements and my, I was so pleasantly surprised! The flowers were true works of art - very creative and reasonably priced.
Biaggi's is where we had our dinner reception. They have a lovely private party room, and the food is absolutely amazing. We had a delicious multi-course dinner for a phenomenal price. I've had several guests comment that they've never had food so good at a wedding reception. They were a delightful group to work with as well.
The Marriott has very nice rooms and we held both the rehearsal dinner and breakfast brunch for out-of-towners in one of its event rooms. They are extremely easy to work with and reasonably priced.
