We though August was going to be sweltering heat (I guess because it is where we live in Washington, DC area)- but our wedding day was gorgeous! It was 82 degrees and sunny with enough sunlight to last until the end of the cocktail hour (8pm). Tarrytown is beautiful and a good central location for the East Coast. We wouldn't have changed one thing about our wedding day!
Frank and his team at House of Flowers took my vision and brought it to life! I told him my wedding colors, some kinds of flowers I like, and the basic idea of what I wanted and gave him a creative license for the rest and they came out amazing! Never had I seen so many wedding guests infatuated with centerpieces as they were with Frank's. Highly recommended!
What can I say bout Kleinfeld's that most brides don't already know. Amazing selection! Camille was a wonderful sales consultant who helped me find the dress of my dreams after only trying on 3 dresses and giving her a generic idea about what I wanted. Josephine altered my dress and was so sweet and efficient! No problems whatsoever- and my dress was exactly what I wanted with the custom finishes! Although I paid more here than most brides might want or be able to- it was worth every single penny!
Michael Polito and his team were absolutely wonderful! I don't think that my husband and I are the most photogenic people, but Michael's pictures were so amazing, he made us look like we were! He has a photo-journalistic approach, so we ended up with amazing, candid shots and no cheesy or forced-looking pictures. We actually had so much fun during our formal pictures! I told Michael after seeing my proofs for the first time- if we ever forgot how much fun we had at our wedding- his pictures would surely remind us! He's great at finding wonderful photo opportunities- so we have the best background shots (e.g. sun setting over Hudson river). He's very flexible and accomodating too! Highly recommended!
Uptown Mix was amazing. I was so nerous that my wedding would be one where no one danced. But with Vali entertainment- no exaggeration- every single person was on the dance floor. Old and young guests had a great time- and our guests couldnot stop raving about the band. They picked the perfect music for dancing and dinner that every singer person enjoyed. Great to work with as well!
The catering service and food at Abigail Kirsch was nothing below excellent. The steak was like butter, eveything came out hot (when it was supposed to be), and at the same time no one left hungry. Our guests could not stop eating because the food was out of this world! We wish we could have done a tasting- but it didn't matter because the food was beyond what we could have imagined. There were so many options for out guests- including plenty of vegetarian options! The service was impeccable! Our guests were very honored to be so well taken care of!
We booked Danny so last minute- so the fact that he agreed to shoot our weding was already amazing enough as it was... but on top of that he was great! He's still working on our video and photo montages... but I'm sure they wil be amazing. It was like he wasn't even there, and he was very professional!
We took 3 classes here just so we didn't look awkard during our first dance- and we ended up learning spins and dips and a great routine for our first dance. Not what we were expecting, so we (and our guests) were pleasantly surprised! So glad we decided to take a few lessons here, because our guests were so shocked and impressed by our dance and we had so much fun doing it! The instructor was so patient and a great teacher! We might take a few more lessons just for fun.
The Cake Boss! It's not just the name or the fame- but our cake came out gorgeous and exactly what we wanted! Most amazing cake I've ever had. Many of our guests who are self-proclaimed non-cake eaters, could not get enough of our wedding cake! No leftovers- people got as many slices as they could get. My husband and I can't wait for our one year anniversary to eat the top layer!
If you don't want to worry about anything on your wedding day, choose Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill Mansion. Our wedding coordinator there, Kathy, was amazing. She took care of every detail before, during, and after our reception. I honestly did not worry about one thing because she took care of it all! For instance, we were so busy during the cocktail hour talking with guests and
Sheraton Hotel was great! The rooms were gorgeous, clean, and pretty new looking. The facilities looked newly rennovated and included a clean fitness center and pool. They accomodated our guest baskets for all of our guests and handed them out. Erin, our contact there, was amazing. Any issue that came up she took care of right away and with enthusiasm. She made sure that our guests received the group rate and was very responsive to my emails and calls. All of our guests felt very welcome here!
The service was slightly slow at the restaurant- but the pre-ordered room service and our brunch the day following our wedding were great! Food was very good! My only negative was the shuttle service picking guests up after our reception (which the Sheraton very kindly accomodated). We had some guests waiting 20 to 30 min. for a shuttle because there was only one when we were told there would be a few making trips from the reception to the hotel. Nonetheless- a minor snafu in the great scheme of things. I would still definitely recommend this hotel for wedding guests and events due to the cleanliness, price, service, and all-around excellence.
