Our wedding couldn't have been more perfect! Weather-wise, we had the most beautiful day of the weekend, and it was wonderful to share our special day with our family and friends in Ottawa at a great venue. Our guests also appreciated our wedding mapper site, especially the ones from out-of-town.
Quality entertainment was a pleasure to work with and DJ Shane did a fantastic job. The dance floor never emptied and his personality was a perfect fit with our guests. Since the wedding I have had numerous guests come up to me to comment on how great they found our DJ.
We wanted something different for our wedding cake. Not being fans of icing and fondant, we wanted a streusel coffee cake that was layered like a wedding cake and Amy delivered. Our cake was one of the highlights of the night (and delicious too!)
Keith Langille did a wonderful job performing our ceremony. He worked with us on creating a script that was uniquely ours, so our ceremony wasn't a cookie-cutter "insert name here" but something that we will remember forever.
Another great vendor choice, we chose Rene Giroux because they have their stock onsite. Which means that you can try on the tuxedos before you order, to ensure that you get exactly what you want. When it was time to pick up our tuxes, we were assisted by the owner himself who went above and beyond with a very picky best man to make sure everyone was happy.
I found this shop because I fell in love with a dress in a magazine and the designer's site had a link to this shop. I was impressed by the service I received and the quality of the alterations on my dress.
I had hand crocheted roses that I wanted to incorperate into my bouquet and they delivered the bouquet of my dreams. Exactly as I described it.
Don't listen to everything you read on the internet about this place. We chose The Monterey Inn because we liked the stone archways in the Riverview room, and the idea of having everything in one place including guest accomodations. It is true that it could use a little updating, but we attended a wedding at Strathmere the year before and it also showed signs of wear and tear.
Our coordinator Andrea Vinette was wonderful to work with and she pulled off our dream wedding. The Monterey Inn provided the rustic, relaxed setting we were looking for and our guests were impressed. Even now, two months after the wedding, our guests are still talking about the buffet which was remarkably good. I believe if you are looking for a one stop location, close to the city, that has lots of charm you can't go wrong with choosing The Monterey Inn.
