The DJ was very interactive with the crowd. He ran the show once we got there and did a good job at that. He played good music but should have probably played a little more country songs and slow songs. He's great if you want some hip hop dance music.
The cake was good and very pretty. We had some unexpected rental costs that we were not aware of. Also once we told her what we wanted the cake to look like, the price went up for the flowers and also for the ribbon. Once a month she held a cake tasting for the brides to be, which was very professional but after you signed the contract, she was very difficult to get in touch with. We weren't even sure she was going to show up with our cake.
The food was AWESOME. Good home cookin. We had fried chicken and pulled pork and they accomodated all ages by throwing in potato chips and a relish tray. The cost was very reasonable. They furnished all the paper products, cups, plastic ware, and drinks. The also gave us good suggestions as to how to arrange the tables for the reception. Just a great group of ladies.
Very nice work and very reasonable. She was fast and the invitations, rsvp's, reception cards, bubble labels, and return address labels were all just beautiful.
The consultant that we worked with was wonderful!!! The alteration dept was aweful!!! There were problems with everyones dress that was altered, including the brides. They used off white ribbon and off white thread to sew the ribbons on to bustle the dress. There were numerous OOPs'. Plus when one of the bridesmaids put her shoes on, she had 2 left shoes. Not sure how that happened. Davids bridal did let us return those shoes. But the timing was not good that we realized the problem 1 hour before the wedding.
The park is absolutely beautiful any time of year. It is an awesome place to have a wedding. So much so that there were 3 weddings there that day.
It was a large enough hall for 200 people but there is a public dance on Friday nights so you cannot begin to decorate until wee hours of the morning on Sat Morn. Also you cannot bring alcohol in but you can hire a bartender. That went well. There was a miscommunication about the cost of renting the hall. I understood the deposit to come off the price but it did not. That was a $100.00 unexpected expense. Also they never told us we had to bring the kegs up from the bar downstairs, so the groom went over in his tux to haul beer on dollys up to the cooler.
