Our wedding was exactly what we wanted and more!!! Because of the time change and our ceremony at 5:00pm, we did "first sight" pictures at Lake Wheeler. We were able to have an intimate time of just us (with our awesome photographers standing back but still capturing the moments!) where we could talk, hug, kiss, and be ourselves. That made for less nerves at the ceremony in front of all our guests! The ceremony was in Apex at our old church. It turned out beautifully; our Pastor made it personal, memorable, and spiritual! On our way to the reception, we made a quick stop on Fayetteville Street for some more pictures! The party was fantastic. All of our guests raved about our "bubble wrap dance" and personal touches that we worked so hard to incorporate. Now we are husband & wife, and loving life!!!
Taylor Pittman, owner/DJ of TaylorMade DJ, is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! He made our reception run smoothly. All of our guests had a blast! He is professional, sincere, easy going, and lively (but not cheesy). We had such a great reception thanks to Taylor!
Cheyenne Brewington is just getting her company started, but makes the tastiest cakes!!! We had white cake w/ raspberry jam/mousse, chocolate cake w/ peppermint, and strawberry cake (with real strawberries) w/ strawberry mousse with real strawberries! They were all moist and so delicious!
After my first consultation, Donna had a vision of exactly what I wanted. We only had fresh flowers for my bouquet, the bridesmaids & all the bouts and corsages, so I wanted them to be beautiful. They were!
The employees were so welcoming at this little boutique. It's a bit pricey but so worth it. My Mom and I had a hard time deciding what would look the best with my gown, so they said "bring it in!". They found us a spot to hang it up and assisted us in finding the perfect necklace, bracelet and earring set!
I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! Ashley Stephenson & her husband David Teeter are SO talented. I highly recommend them to ANY & EVERY one!!! Check out their blog (www.tellingyourstoryphotographers.com). They are very reasonable on their prices (and in my opinion, could easily charge much more!). They were so easy to work with- I feel like we're friends now!
Good selection. Great prices (they matched prices that I found lower elsewhere!). Delivered on-time. Only bad thing was they charged us $70 for pick-up on Sunday (b/c it's not a normal business day for them) but our reception venue said we had to have everything out by 10:00am the day after.
We rented tuxedos from Savvi Formalwear in Pleasant Valley Promenade (it's on Glenwood Avenue). They didn't do anything extraordinary but the tuxedos were very nice and the order came in correctly. My fiance & I actually changed our minds several times and the staff was happy to help every time we called or dropped by. I also ordered my gown from them. It's actually a Casablanca gown that I found at Carolina Bridal World (outlet in Smithfield) but Savvi gave us the best price, and deals on the tuxedos!!
Dori is my Mary Kay consultant. She came to the church and did my make-up as well as my bridesmaids and the mothers! She does a beautiful job!!
The theatre is a unique place, exactly the style/feel we were going for (exposed brick walls, high ceilings, 2nd floor balcony, theatrical lighting, with some modern elements in the decor) and affordable, but... the artistic director with whom we dealt with made the experience stressful. He was not consistent, telling us one thing then changing it a few days later. I would not recommend using this venue or any other venue that isn't accustomed to having wedding receptions.
