We live in Charleston so I'm bias to how wonderful a place it is but I am a transplant from NYC three years ago. Our guests were mostly from out of town and had a great weekend in Charleston. We could not have asked for better weather for the weekend. It was in the high 60's/low 70's during the day but a bit cool at night, in the low 60's. Rick and Tara, our photographers, were amazing from Lowry and McKee. Our pictures are beautiful and they captured our special day just as we remembered. Our flowers were from Lotus Flowers and Mary is the best! She provided us with the most beautiful arrangements and what I loved even more was she wasn't pushy at all with trying to get us to do more with our flowers. Definitely use Lotus if you're looking for a florist. The Wickliffe House provided the perfect venue and catering for the wedding and our guests are still talkinga about it.
The staff of the Wickliffe House/Mediterra Catering were wonderful! They were very responsive and great to work with. The food was amazing and our guests are still talking about the shrimp and grits. The ceremony was held outside on the front lawn and we went directly across the street for our pictures afterwards. The brick walls, beatiful trees and the WH were a beautiful background.
Even though the rooms were a bit small our guests enjoyed their stay here. The location is great in downtown, the farmers market across the street and walking distance of all the restaurants and shops was perfect. Our guests could be found late night in the hotel bar and we hosted a brunch in the restaurant Sunday morning which was perfect.
