I saw a picture of a dress in a magazine and had it copied. It was a very complicated bodice, with a unique neckline and covered in individually placed appliques. Victoria was patient, but fast, easy to work with, seemed to agree/understand if I wanted something just slightly different and never made me feel like it was unnecessary or I was being picky. She also sells off the rack.
we havent' seen the photos yet, but she gets 5 stars because she's been fun to work with and we liked her other photos - hoping we like ours as much. also, if you buy an album (which most people will do, and she offers 5 styles!) you get all your photos on DVD. i dont' think other photographers necessarily do this. my sister in law has to wait 3 years before the photog will give them to her. The DVD means I can turn around and make a book for our parents online for cheaper than her parent books if I want.
Update: We've seen our photos. She missed some key shots so we were a little disappointed with that. The album is now being made. We felt a little frustrated at the process. Seemed like we needed more time with her and then for touching up the photos so we ended up being charged extra for touchups and redesign. My sister in law met 9 times with her photog for the album. We met once. More seemed discouraged and likely we'd have had to pay (which my husband really didn't think we should have to do. Hence, some frustration.)
an idiot. called the groom JUST before the ceremony to ask for directions. he's in tacoma. the wedding is in poulsbo! he complained that he wasnt' told he would have to take a ferry. well, he was told he could take the bridge so he had to know GENERALLY where it was, but clearly it didnt' register. Needless to say, he didn't make it to the wedding. one star for prompt refund.
in kirkland. great. nice guy, accomodating, really nice tux for a rental, good price.
DeAndre and Kate work together. they are fun and did a great job. I never wear makeup and DeAndre did a really nice natural look. I saw him at macy's twice and we did an offical trial one other day. all this is included in the price. they came over from seattle, but only charged for the cost of the ferry as far as travel expense ($50 for 3), and $60 a face. I dont' know what's normal, but this price I could certainly afford!
She saved me! ami makeup put me in touch with her. After two VERY VERY expensive TRIALS with someone in Poulsbo, I changed to Michelle (3 weeks before the wedding). We did one trial, and it was such a relief. It was great. I could communicate what I wanted, which was not a typical wedding style. She's also fast, so it doesn't take forever to get a really cool updo! MUCH more reasonable than the other person - $30 trial, updos start at $75. she also cut my hair for $20. She shared the ferry with ami makeup, so no additional travel charge from seattle! all total, she cost me less than ONE trial! Awesome! highly recommend.
Beautiful venue, GREAT food. The staf were good. We worked with Nancy, but just before our wedding she had a serious health issue come up. Her sub was good, but didn't have much experience actually running a wedding (has worked at kiana for years, though). Everything that was supposed to happen did, except she never told us what was happening/where we were supposed to be. She was the one who was supposed to be watchign the clock for us. Instead, it defaulted to our photopgrapher which meant when SHE said something needed to be happening it was because it was LATE, so we felt stressed. All in all, a great day. Our guests loved it, and Nancy is back at work!
A really nice casual location. We had the ladies club cater and it was good food, nothing fancy, but pretty solid. The salmon appetizer was not cheap but really nice. worth it to spruce up the meal. we had some confusion with the coordinator for sons of norway, but the ladies were the ones we ultimately dealt with and they, really Kathy, was great. We had the party we wanted with crafts, activities, a photo booth, and dancing.
nice people according to our guests, one said the bed was too soft (old), not too expensive, great location.
For our two families (which were the wedding party), we rented the Beach House and Saltair House run by the casino, that are right on either side of Kiana Lodge. Beautiful! Great location. We will go back. Not Cheap!
