Our outdoor wedding in September was great! Everything went smoothly and our special day was a perfect day. Many of our guests had to travel from out of town, and even the folks in the Twin Cities hadn't been way out to the arboretum before. WeddingMapper was really helpful in showing everyone the location of wedding events.
Excxellent DJ made the night a lot of fun. There was great music selection, nice extras (like a wireless mic for toasts), and an affordable price.
You have to use this caterer if you have the reception at the arboretum. It worked out well, but our contact didn't respond to emails or phone messages. They also had our counts wrong, necessitating a last minute run to Costco for more entrees...
Highly recommended. Excellent candid snapshots that really captured the little moments of the day and also made excellent use of our beautiful surroundings. And the photographers actually made having our photos taken fun! Perhaps most unique is that he waives copyright, so you can freely post your pics online or have them printed anywhere.
Attractive setting right in the arboretum--definitely a plus. You have to go with University of Minnesota catering, though. Also, communication with the staff was sometimes unclear and we got conflicting information about what was and wasn't allowed.
Very beautiful location. Communication with the staff was sometimes unclear---our ceremony start and setup times kept changing.
Event coordinator who was very helpful; offered a shuttle for guests at a modest fee. Our nonsmoking bridal suite had an oppressive smoke odor, though.
