Our wedding was a blast! If you're going to get married in California in the summer, Carmel is a great place to be. Our guests stayed nice and cool, yet we were still able to enjoy a lovely outdoor wedding. Wedding Mapper is a wonderful idea and very helpful to guests!
Spencer Sutherland was wonderful! He played classical guitar for our ceremony and then was the DJ for our reception. His timing is perfect and his song selections are impeccable. I can't tell you how many people complimented me on the songs he chose throughout the evening. He's extremely professional and truly wants this to be your best day ever. Highly recommended!!
Layers makes the most incredible cakes (my sister kept begging for more!). They are easy to work with and were able to exactly duplicate the design on my wedding invitations. If you want rave reviews on your dessert, go for Layers!
I actually didn't have a choice for florists because Mission Ranch requires that we use Kathryn Smith, but I can understand why! She's a brilliant florist and decorator and she made the entire site even more gorgeous. She's very friendly and makes the process extremely easy for frazzled brides.
A relative recommended Andrew to us and we were quite pleased. He is very easy-going and doesn't make you do the horribly cheesy bridal photos that I see so often. He has a very unobtrusive style and never got in the way of the party while still taking amazing shots.
I could not have been more pleased with Mission Ranch! They exceeded any expectations that I had for my wedding and made each of my guests feel welcome and special. Their professional staff with built-in wedding organizers made the day run smoothly. The site itself is gorgeous and their smiling faces made it just a bit brighter all around.
I really wish that I could give this place more stars. LHL&S was the only hotel in the Monterey/Carmel/Pacific Grove area that would allow me to block off rooms ahead of time for my guests to book. They did give me a discounted group rate as well. The hotel rooms and suites are very nice. The site even offers a free buffet breakfast and dinner (burgers and such) daily. It has a pool for the kids and a hot tub for the adults. But the management is truly lacking. Several reservations were mistakenly lost, cancelled, or booked for the incorrect date. Many people who called to get the group rate were told that there were no rooms available when in fact there were more than 30 left. They had the incorrect date for my rehearsal dinner and our food the next night was overcooked because of this. I left welcome bags at the front desk so that guests would receive them upon arrival, yet they were all still sitting there at check-out time. They also overcharged my uncle by over $1000. I really wish this had been a better experience. The staff was very apologetic and nice, but something is seriously wrong at this establishment. I sincerely hope they can correct these problems in the future. Until then, stay away.
