Our wedding was fantastic! Everything worked out wonderfully, and we really enjoyed the entire day. Everything was beautiful!
Classic Cafe was super accomodating, ready to do whatever we wanted/needed. Their price was the best I've ever seen. And their food was AMAZING! We had meat and vegetarian lasagna, and both were great, but the vegetarian was exceptional! We also had meatballs and people were telling us that they were the best meatballs they'd ever had.
We hired a bartender and bought all of our beer and champagne through Cap N'Cork. One of our guests wanted to gift us wine and Cap'N'Cork was had no problem with us doing that. And anything we didn't open, Cap'N'Cork took back. The bartender was $25/hour, and the kegs and champagne were completely reasonably priced.
I loved my wedding dress. It was a third dress I tried on and I was done. So many people complimented me on how perfect my dress was for me. And I didn't need to get it altered. I couldn't have been happier.
I did have a problem with the Hilton not getting my name right on our block of rooms, and they didn't correct it after I informed them of their error. This isn't a big deal, but it still bothered me. I also requested 15 rooms at the block price and they only gave us 10, and we were told that if more guests reserved a room than were in the block of rooms, they would still honor the block price. This was not true and as soon as 10 rooms were booked, they started charging full price for the rooms. I was able to call and have other guests added to the block after they'd reserved their rooms, but I felt that this should not have been something I had to worry about the week before my wedding. I did rent a suite instead of the regular sized block room and they gave me the suite for the price of a regular block room.
The History Center is a beautiful location for a wedding and a reception. We were extremely happy with our entire experience the whole time we were planning our wedding. Unfortunately, they were renovating the ceiling in the main room and when we showed up to decorate on Friday, all the scaffolding was just pushed over to the side and their plan was to cover it with plastic. We were able to rent white sheeting to cover the scaffolding, but we had to pay for it. They also had removed their sound system, something that we did not find out about until the day before the wedding. Luckily, our DJ had everything he needed, but I wanted to make things easier on him so that he didn't have to carry all that equipment around. Regardless of these issues, I wouldn't have wanted to get married anywhere else. The entire night was wonderful.
