We're a UK based couple who wanted to do something a little different for our wedding day so we opted for a Christmas wedding in New York. We chose the Waldorf Astoria because it is so impressive, filled with history and like nothing we had locally! If I had any advice it would be spending some money coming over here and meeting with your vendors / venue etc... It is so hard to get a feel for anything via e-mail / websites. Once I had met everyone in person (especially the photographer) I felt far more relaxed. We had a crazy week rushing all over New York but it also helped us find our way around and we could help our guests too. Christmas in New York is so beautiful - and just added to the special feeling of our day. It does limit venue choice though - as the weather isn't always crisp white snow so it's a risk to try it outdoors in Central Park for example.
The flowers on the day were spectacular and looked amazing. Particularly the table centres which were very impressive. I didn't actually have any personal contact with the vendor though as my wedding co-ordinator sorted it all for me. I know she has used the company for some time and has never been let down.
I have a mane of untamed curls and Stacy was a genius! She really made my hair look the best it ever has and patiently approached her work - even sticking around to do touch ups before i walked down the aisle! I wish I lived closer to her!!
Fantastic - definitely the best part of the wedding! The staff were first class, really looked after us and were great. The food was amazing - all the guests commented it was the best wedding food they had ever had. Plenty of drinks at the bar too - so everyone had a great night.
