While Hale Farm and Village offers a romantic, classy and stunning backdrop for your wedding, their customer service was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.
I was sold on the place the summer before when I met with the first rental sales person. Since then, another person had taken over the position and couldn't have cared less about my questions. This person was impossible to reach by phone and almost NEVER returned an email. If an email actually was returned, none of my questions were answered. For every 7 emails I sent, I received 1. For every 5 messages I left, I got a returned call, sometimes by an "assistant".
OK Hale Farm, we get that you are over-extending your staff because you probably make very little money as a non-profit organization providing the community with a historical depiction of mid-1800's life in Ohio. But really? I had to deal with this?
So, I thought everything had been squared away at the final meeting and walk-through the week before, but to our surprise when we arrived to bring instruments to the meetinghouse before the ceremony, we were treated so rudely by a Hale Farm worker that my future father-in-law had words with him! They were fighting on the steps of the church because the sales person either failed to listen to my requests in the first place or relay them to the staff! On our wedding day...ack!
In the end, our wedding was fabulous (because the caterer, A Taste of Excellence, was awesome!) and we got married.
I thought all was finished until today, I found that Hale Farm had charged and extra $500 to my credit card...I have no idea why. I'm still waiting to see what's going on with that.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Hale Farm to have your wedding. It's too bad, it really is a charming and lovely place.
