I've always loved the Tip Tops. The were fabulous. We wanted a dance party, and that's what we got! They played all the great motown songs, and ended with New York, New York and Sweet Home Alabama - as we requested.
The only suggestion is to make sure the band itself has a playlist, if you want one, because they work with several managers. We gave our song requests to their manager and they only played the songs that we actually asked them to play. Overall, it didn't matter because EVERYONE loved the music and we were dancing the whole time!
Jeff and Meggan from Keyhole Photo were wonderful. They are a husband/wife team, and really work well together. They went the extra mile to make sure our photos really captured our wedding day - including going out on sailboats in 95 degree heat!
Our photos turned out great. We wanted mostly candid shots of the day, and that's what they captured. They edited and sent us the pics while we were still on our honeymoon. Highly recommended photography vendor.
Jason Norman of Norman Photography is the worst wedding vendor I worked with. We basically paid an $1150 deposit for nothing.
After our engagement photo session with him, we tried to contact him to make suggestions about what we wanted for the wedding. He did not return our calls or emails for weeks. He finally sent an email saying he would get back to us the next week. That never happened. We decided that he was not reliable enough to photograph our wedding after all of that, so we emailed him to say that we were thinking of going with another photographer. Of course he responded in minutes. He said he was sorry we felt that way, but he was keeping our deposit. We asked if he would at least send the CD of the engagement photos, and he said he would mail them the next week. Needless to say, that never happened. HE TOOK OUR MONEY AND RAN!
We contacted the Better Business Bureau and they tried to contact him for weeks, to no avail. They finally closed the case with no response, and put a "black mark" on his BBB profile.
I hope if others use him in the future, that they have a better experience than we did. Customer service is not his strong suit!
We had our reception at The Grand Hotel at Julep Point. They did a spectacular job on the food, drinks, and setup. Julie and Mandy in the events department catered to our every need and were always available for concerns/requests.
The only thing I would suggest for Julep Point is to rent the "uplighting" on the patio. When the sun went down, it was a little too dark out there. Our pictures could have used a little more light so they weren't so flash heavy. Otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing about our reception location.
