Our wedding was so amazing. The Rose Garden was still very much in bloom and GORGEOUS. We were able to coordinate everything to be very close to downtown really easily. Early October is so nice in North Carolina, still pretty warm, but not scorching hot. We had excellent luck with all of our vendors (and/or good taste in hiring them!), and everything came together so well.
I had a great experience with EW at Catering Works. This was the only catering service that was able to do what I wanted and stayed within our budget (other caterers would prepare proposals $3000-$4000 OVER what we told them we could spend!) CW was professional, easy to work with, and most importantly, everyone raved about the food. I highly recommend.
My guests complained that the thermostats in the rooms didn't work. The wi-fi is only available in the lobby. The business center was a joke, and in order to print one file, we had to save a copy of it to the harddrive of the hotel computer. That's a privacy concern and just bad technology. They gave our hospitality bags to the wrong guests. I went with the Sheraton because I think it's beautiful inside, the amenities are good, and it was a little cheaper per night than the Marriot next door, but I'd recommend the higher priced rooms for better service.
The events coordinator here was awesome. She was always very responsive to emails and calls, and always helpful. The museum was a beautiful and elegant location to have a reception.
Very reasonably priced. The coordinator was easy to work with, although it was sometimes frustrating that their office hours are only on Saturdays from 10-1pm.
We had an after-party at the Pour House. Great place to see live music, huge beer selection, as well as wine and liquor.
