Alexis is fantastic. She was very laid-back and makes you comfortable. Even my fiance' was thrilled; he was so worried he'd be nervous around her, but he said he even had fun during our engagement pictures! Wedding photos turned out amazing. I'm so thrilled with her, I'd recommend her to anyone.
Food is extremely good. They will seem a bit overpriced at the beginning, but once you start comparing them to everyone else with all of the "extras" added in (water, cake cutting, silverware, dinner ware, etc.), they will probably come out as the cheapest! If your wedding is really complicated (renting linens, more elaborate place settings, etc.), you might struggle a little with the person hired to help with weddings, but if you just need food, you'll see no issues.
Very laid-back environment and friendly. They even let me take a ton of photos of the dresses I was considering! I would recommend them to anyone.
Very yummy, but unfortunately he closed his business. I believe he's now at Bit o'Swiss though, so there may still be hope of getting one of his cakes!
Charlie did a wonderful job of working with me to plan my event. I focused on SW Michigan wines, so I even made it more challenging for him, but everything worked out perfectly!
My flowers were absolutely GORGEOUS. We had some issues the week of the wedding getting my red lilies to exist, but in the end Vicki pulled it off and they could not have been more beautiful.
The Presidential Suite worked wonderfully for the bridesmaids and the bride to get ready and we also used it for a Hospitality Suite which worked out nicely for those who had no where to go between my ceremony and reception.
The hotel location is wonderful and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice all of the standard rooms were! The price was also the best in the downtown area and I heard no complaints on the quality from any of my out-of-town guests.
Rules can be a bit frustrating at times, but in general, I had no issues. The pastor has changed, however, since my wedding, and the new priest seems a lot more laid back, so I expect this all to change for the better.
Absolutely GORGEOUS venue. If you want a lot of beautiful windows overlooking nature and flowers, this site is for you! It's brand new (opened May 2009), so it's still a bit off the radar, but my pictures out there were fabulous. I heard nothing but good reviews from everyone at my wedding, and it's a casual enough setting that it really encouraged everyone to stay and have fun.
The hotel shuttle worked out very well. I don't think it's free anymore, but I'm sure no matter what it will still be cheaper than paying for an official shuttle service.
The kids really enjoyed the water park for the time we had between the ceremony and the reception and the manager was very generous and gave us a discounted rate since no one would be able to enjoy it all day. Only issue was the water park hours. Friday and Sunday hours made it practically worthless for our guests.
Hotel block was the best rate in town. Only issue was that they wouldn't give the Bride and Groom a good rate for a King room since it wasn't in our block! Seems ridiculous, but we just took a room with 2 queens since it was only for a few hours anyway.
