Matthew Kern has provided music for hundreds of weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, private parties and corporate events over the past ten years at nearly every Portland area venue. He served as the house pianist for the Nordstrom store in downtown Portland for over nine years. He began playing at the age of three and has an instantly recognizable style that encompasses many musical genres and eras from jazz and pop standards to rock classics and the hits of today. He has an intuitive sense of timing, atmosphere and what songs will be most enjoyable for you and your guests. Matthew’s playing is inobtrusive yet engaging, and has been described by The Oregonian as “wildly romantic” and “wonderful.” His versatility makes him the perfect choice for music lovers of all ages and the ideal musician for any style of event from the most traditional to the most casual. He will meet with you in advance if you wish to discuss your musical preferences.
