Michael at Coastal Gourmet worked with us to create a Spanish-themed buffet adhering to our dietary restrictions. The menu included seafood and chicken paella, Rioja-braised beef, salmon with olive tapenade and grilled squash. The customized wedding cake came with the package and featured layers of orange and vanilla cake with chocolate and orange mousse fillings and buttercream frosting -- so delicious! The event coordinator, Susan, went above and beyond, ensuring that both the wedding and reception ran smoothly. The top-notch service staff put together all our centerpieces and used the extra oranges to create gorgeous centerpieces for the outside tables. And all for a great price!

Absolutely delicious food, offer event planning services, as well as handling all other vendor contacts. executed the entire day flawlessly. They have a lot of clients so expect to wait for your day to come for you to be #1, but definitely a fantastic choice. They took our vision and made it reality, and offered limitless ideas and suggestions to help in the planning process. Definitely a good choice.

One Star's a bit on the genrous side.
Absolutely awful.
A complete let down.
When guest arrived the toilets were flooded, and despite promise after promise the only thing that was done about it was the poor staffers picking the solids out mannually, with no extra payment for such hideous and dangerous to the health work.
At the wedding there were centre pieces that were not to be taken by guests and the florist disscussed this with the venue, yet they failed to remove the 3 vases concerned and I now have to fork out 300 for the missing vase.
We have not heard a peep out of them other than to tell us that we cannot get a penny back for the, and I quote the owners own mother "high water table that caused the bathroom flooding, it happens there a lot".
(We married at the end of july)
There were people there with special dietry requirements, none of them recieved what they needed, and what was aksed for, these were not even healthy choices, there were extreemly serious allergies ignored, despite the assurances and the request going in for all of them in feb. we married in july. This effected 3 people.
Their were other people who requested no sauce or sauce on side, they were also forgoton by staff.
They wouldn't bake my cake so I baked it myself, they did Ice it, and after my husband and I cut it took it to the back where all the Icing was peeled off before serving.(WTF!)
The food was great, but cold.
I, the bride had to wait for over 10 mins for a knife to begin eating.
Service was ridiculously slow.
we ordered a tent with sides for the garden, there were no sides.
our wedding co-ordinator didn't do anything at all, other than showing face for 10 mins at the reception before offing to another wedding.
we waited near on an hour for our dessert to be served, which is beyond me, it was only three little pasteries on a dish, tasted nice though.
We were never told that we went over the bar limit until days and later, but it was in releation to any sort of compensation for the lack of things we'd payed for not being there and the lack of pee pots, lack of proper service(the wine also didn't come out unti lthe main meal, and there was only one server for 120 guests, whoincedentally all liked wine, he was helped occassionally by others), the lady left in charge as our stand in co-ordinator, didn't once introduce herself, although I knew from her casual wear she wasn't a guest.
The food service was soooo slow that the band had to take charge and sugget we just cut the cake(not the dessert) as it was nearing 10 and we'd been dining since 6, our time was up at 11:30.
The guests were all excellent, though a lot of the older people left before the dessert, as they couldn't stay any longer, either because it was dark, or because they REALLY needed to pee.
We didn't get to go around any of our guests due to the slow service.
We had a great time because after I stopped crying about the hideous circumstances I thought "f**k it, it can't possibly get worse" and I really enjoyed the fact people came all the way from Italy, UK, Canada and all over the states to spend our big disasterous day with us.
My guests were amazing, not one of them did or has complained to me, though I know they've all been talking to my mother in law about how terrible it was for my husband and I.
All in all the whole thing cost us over $20 000
And I am deeply embarrassed about the utterly dismal service, which I put down to the piss poor organisation and utter lack of care shown by the random woman who was our stand in co-ordinator, finding the big boss lurking in the bridal suite(little room for private things) when I didn't know who he was, and then to have him not even apologise was enough to make more mortals spit fire and blood, but I just looked at him and though what a poop head and concentrated on breathing until he was out of my sight.
He made no moves toward speaking to myself, my husband or anyone else in the bridal party and just stod like a complete numbskull at the side of the room, not doing anything for anyone.
Perhaps he was inwardly laughing about the money grab.
Three days later we were told the toilets had been fixed at 10:30pm.
Not a single person was told this at the wedding and I find it impossible to believe, especially after what the big bosses mum told my mum and great aunt when they were shopping in mystic the day or two after the wedding.
Is this guy lying to me, or his old mum!?!
Either way he is a dirty rotten looser.
What a disgrace!
I only hope I have opportunity to make up the poor time my guests were shown to them all.
