We held both ceremony and reception at SqWires. Even before our event we knew we had made the right choice and cannot have imagined going anywhere else. Originally we had planned to get married in March, but due to circumstances beyond our control, were forced to move the date. We decided to move it up and recontacted our short list. SqWires was one of the few locations willing to work with our now shortened schedule and slashed budget. You would never have known had you been there! It was absolutely amazing. Nobody who knew our budget believed us. All of our guests were in awe of the venue and event. They have a lot of the stuff that usually adds up already on hand (like decor, linens, vases, displays, easels, etc.) and do not charge mark up fees for you to use it. The space is already so beautifully decorated and has such an inviting, unique vibe that you don't need much to make it really pop. Our ceremony was in the front room and then we had our reception in the annex. At first I was nervous that our 60 person guestlist would be overwhelmed in such a big room but Bethany arranged tables and utilized smaller tables to fill the space. It was perfect. The quirky mix of tables and seating really complimented our cocktailish vibe. Speaking of, Bethany was a joy to work with. We lived a few hours away but I never felt anything but relaxed while working with SqWires. We did most of the planning via email and she was always good at getting back to us about things and had no problem answering my million questions. The food was beyond compare. We had eaten there a few times but after we had our tasting, we were blown away. Everyone is still raving about it. The night of, during set up, the head table collapsed and several things were broken. By the time we arrived the table was replaced, our decor reset, and new vases had been brought out to replace them. Bethany and her manager Karen even offered to replace the toasting glasses for us. I mention this not to nag that it happened (nobody's fault & that was the "worst thing") but to highlight how customer focused the staff at SqWires is. They really went above and beyond for us. We'd also forgotten silver sharpies for our record guest book, but Karen managed to locate some just in time. There are not enough characters available to truly explain how awesome SqWires was. They helped us pull off the perfect evening.
Sqwires Annex is an amazing venue, the owner kept much of the spirit of the building wiht beautiful brick interior walls, which are awesome for photos. The food was beyond good, our guest are still raving a month later about how great the food and atmosphere was. Karen Kruse is an awesome event manager and made our day so special. There arent many venues that give you as much as Sqwires for the price. We had a Champagne brunch and it was amazing, check out Sqwires you will not be disappointed.
I would honestly recommend Sqwires to anyone, planning any type of event. The owners and the staff were phenomenal, they made everything super easy and were willing to work with our budget.
