This is a lovely resort, very self-contained with water sports and a tiki bar at poolside that serves food. They also do bike hire which is a good thing because the resort is a good 20-30 minute walk from the key attractions in Key West. This didn't really bother us because it was nice to pedal around, but if you're looking for a resort on the doorstep of the bars and restaurants this isn't it. However, there is ample parking which suited us having driven down from Miami (you won't get as good parking in the centre of Key West). The rooms and apartments are simply but colourfully decorated and our 2 person room had a decent sized fridge for snacks and booze (there is a Walgreens next door to stock up). They have 4 pools which have plenty of sunbeds and sunny spots for the sunbathers and shady spots too. Really friendly and helpful Reception staff who will give advice and make enquiries for you, and tons of money-off vouchers from the front desk.
We loved Parrot Key Resort! The resort was exactly what we had hoped for. The Conch style tropical atomsphere of Key West. The grounds are so lush. We were upgraded to an ocean view three bedroom cottage. One of our guests was also upgrade to a cottage instead of a standard double room. The resort offers many accomodation options. Our three bedroom waterfront cottage was the perfect gathering spot for out group. Yes, The resort is not on duval but, with a rental car this is a non issue. Our group of 13 would all choose this resort again.
