• Venue: VanDusen Botanical Garden – Floral Hall
The location is amazing and the rental rates for Vancouver are very reasonable. You are required to set up and take down the tables yourself and you have to rent the night before if you don’t want to set up in the morning. The hall is set to be torn down in September when the new visitor center is opens. Unfortunately, the venue we booked a year in advance looked very different on the outside because of this. The lawn had been dug up and there was blue fencing surrounding most of the building. For the event they did move the porta-potty and reduce the amount of blue fencing. The venue still worked out great and we had an amazing time. It is hard to find a reasonably priced venue in Vancouver, so I would still recommend the new hall in the visitor center when it is completed.
If you love gardens, it doesn't get much better than this. Consult the online calendar to find out when your favourite flowers/trees are in bloom to help you decide on the perfect date. For the finer details, get in touch with the dedicated wedding coordinator to help you through your planning process. Options are available for both outdoor and indoor wedding ceremonies and receptions, as well as for both small and large weddings. My husband and I were married here in an outdoor ceremony in April 2009. Despite the fact that the winter weather had been harsh and the spring bloom was several weeks behind, we still got some fantastic photos. We did not book the restaurant at the gardens for the reception, but we did eat here at another reception: the food was delicious and the service was excellent.
