Small Thyme Catering/Our History & Growth
It all began as a whim and a dream of Chef Larry Kiesler in 1992
while he was the Executive Chef of Petars Restaurant in Lafayette.
He spent months researching small businesses at all the local libraries and sought out advice from his friends at the Lafayette Chambers of Commerce. Encouraged by Martinez City Officials and Companies all over Contra Costa, he started molding Small Thyme Catering into the success it is today.
In 2004 Chef Larry joined forces with Barbara Perry,
who had 30 years experience in the Hotel,
Restaurant Management and Catering Field.
Together they created Small Thyme Café & Catering Inc., which was located on Piedmont Ave. In Oakland California.
After four years of Café & Catering, Small Thyme decided to get back to it’s roots...
Sold the Café, joined forces with other small businesses at the
Artisan Kitchens in Richmond California, and got down to some serious catering creations.
Still servicing the Contra Costa area,
Small Thyme Catering has been able to include a much larger geographic. From Stinson Beach to Half Moon Bay and all the cities in between.
We now have a impeccable staff, from Cordon Bleu certified chefs to talented and qualified servers & bar staff.
Together as a team will make your event the dazzling success of your dreams.
We offer complementary tasting at our location in Richmond.
During your appointment, we will design a menu and service package that will satisfy all your requests.
If you don’t see what you’re interested in through our catering menus, just let us know and Chef Larry will create a menu tailored especially for you.
