Hotel Palomar Washington DC

We really enjoyed this hotel but were a bit put off by the hidden charges: parking tax added to the $35/night fee, additional room taxes. The rooms were great but in this economy, they could have been more accommodating.

We were able to secure a block of 30 rooms at Hotel Palomar for fairly reasonable rates (given the neighborhood—West Dupont). The rooms were all beautifully decorated and pretty spacious. Our guests definitely seemed to enjoy themselves here, and the pet-friendly policies were an additional draw for many.
We also held the rehearsal dinner and a brunch at the hotel's restaurant, Urbana. The food was very good, the location was convenient for guests, and the restaurant doesn't require a food minimum to book a private party—which can be hard to come by in D.C.
